Raynes Park High School SW20 0JL

For the very first time, Wimbledon Symphony Orchestra gathered for a day-long exploration and musical marathon exploring the works of a single composer. In this inaugural event, WSO decided to dedicate the day to exploring the symphonies and suites of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and thus the “Tchaikathon” was born! Music Director Robin Browning led the orchestra in a run-through of all six, numbered Tchaikovsky symphonies.

In addition to working on the symphonies, there were opportunities for budding conductors and really anyone who wanted to hop on the podium (for a nominal fee) to have a turn conducting WSO in movements from Tchaikovsky’s Suites from Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.
