Jayden Lamcellari to play Dvorak cello concerto

WSO is very pleased to welcome Jayden Lamcellari to play Dvorak’s cello concerto in B minor.

Described as “Simply Amazing” by The Irish Examiner, London-based cellist Jayden Lamcellari has gained recognition for his expressive solo and chamber music performances. He has earned top prizes at international competitions, including the Soloists of New England International Competition, New York Concerti Sinfonia Competition, Vienna International Music Competition, Gustav Mahler Competition as well as a being a finalist of the Haslemere International string competition.

At age 15, Jayden made his Carnegie Hall debut with the New York Concerti Sinfonia, and he has since performed there multiple times, including cello duets with his father, Enrien Lamcellari, with whom he studied at the early age of 3 years old. Other prestigious venues include Wigmore Hall, Lincoln Centre, Musikverein Vienna, Khachaturian Hall, Cadogan Hall, the National Concert Hall of Ireland as well as multiple major concert venues across China.

Jayden is a recipient of the Derek Simpson Award as well as the Piatti prize at the Royal Academy of Music, where he studies under Professor Christoph Richter. Previously, he was a student at the Junior Royal Academy of Music as well as the Purcell school studying with Professor Bozidar Vukotic. His recent accolades include the Homan Potterton Award, supported by Irish Heritage UK, multiple awards at the 110th annual Feis Ceoil festival as well as this year's awardee of the Trench Award at Birr Music festival.
