WSO to meet again for rehearsals from 18 May 2021

May 16, 2021

Wimbledon Symphony Orchestra are excited to announce the return to rehearsals following the easing of restrictions on 17 May 2021.

Starting on Tuesday 18 May 2021 the strings and then the woodwinds & horns will take weekly turns rehearsing Mozart’s Divertimento in D major, K136 & Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48 and Strauss’ Serenade for winds in E-flat, Op. 7 & Gounod’s Petite Suite pour vents, respectively, to culminate in an informal concert open to the orchestra members only on Saturday 19 June 2021.

If the further easing of restrictions continues as expected, we hope to hold an orchestral day (our triennial “Composerthon”, this year only exploring one large-scale work and then presenting an informal playthrough at the end of the day) on Sunday 27 June 2021 at St John’s Smith Square to which we will welcome an audience. Please continue to look at our website for updated news about this day.
